Having Difficulty Purchasing and Managing Domains.

I've never before complained about a service provider in public, but since GoDaddy doesn't make it easy to contact its upper management, this may be as good a place as any to mention that IMHO, purchasing and managing domains has become substantially more difficult--and even hampered DECEPTIVE business practices--since GoDaddy redesigned its website.

Has anyone else noticed that--to begin with--GoDaddy has made it more difficult to enter promo codes, change auto-renew options (which are now the default option), change nameservers and make other changes that wouldn't benefit GoDaddy?

I've been a customer for many years and I'm finally to the point that I think I may "vote" with my wallet and leave, UNLESS the company becomes more transparent and user friendly.

Does anyone ELSE think the company needs to make its website easier for its users?

I do think the design could use some work, but everything you just mentioned can be found either on the My Product page or the Account Management page. All those settings are obvious on the checkout pages, as well, as far as I can see.

Are you talking about specific pages in particular?

Hi @LongTimeUser,

Welcome to the Community!

We appreciate you being a long-time user and want to address some of your concerns. GoDaddy has no intention to be deceptive, but there are conditions and terms for the use of coupons - like all coupon offers elsewhere. Be sure to check the terms of any discount offered, there may be TLD restrictions from the registry. There are also times when a coupon can only be used once in a customer's account. (Such as the $.99 offer.)

Auto-renew has always been the default option for new products. This feature can be removed at any time. If you have opted for protected registration on a domain, it may take a few extra steps to take the renewal off.

Lastly, please be sure you've updated the Contact Preferences in your Account Settings Profile to receive our promotional offers and discounts. If you have other questions concerning domain actions, we'll be happy to help you here.
