Created a cron job to run my php script in cPanel, but it doesn't execute

I have gone through similar posts, but none of them was of any help. So I'm asking for help.

I'm on Ultimate shared hosting plan. I created a cron job to run my php script in cPanel, but it does not seems to executing. I injected a command that writes to a text file in the script's folder. When I run the script manually I can see that it works, but with cron nothing happens.

I'd appreciate any help on this.

My cron job looks like this:

/usr/local/bin/php -q /home/USERNAME/public_html/cron/MYSCRIPT.php

And it's scheduled to run every 5 mins:

*/5 * * * *

I will be up front and let you know that I do not know a lot about cron jobs but I do know a lot about cpanel. I have found an article that goes in depth a little more than the Godaddy article on this that might help. https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/82Docs/Cron+Jobs. Good luck and let us know what you find out!
